YUI Experience Network
Terms of Use
These terms set the minimum rules for taking part in the YUI Experience Network Public Beta. YUI is the short brand name used throughout these terms. They are written to protect travelers, contributors and the usefulness of shared experience.
Who may use the beta
You must be able to understand these terms and provide accurate account information. Some features require a signed-in account. Do not let another person use your account.
Minimum Age
YUI is intended for users aged 13 or older. Users under the applicable minimum age should not create an account.
Your Stories and photos
You keep ownership and copyright in the words and photos you submit. Upload only photos you took yourself or have the right to post. Do not upload photos that infringe another person’s copyright, portrait rights, privacy or other rights.
When you publish a Story, you give YUI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use its photos only to provide the YUI service. This includes displaying and delivering the photos, creating thumbnails, and resizing, converting or otherwise optimizing them for travelers’ devices. This permission ends when the content is permanently deleted, except for limited backups that must be retained temporarily.
Prohibited activity
- Content that infringes copyright, privacy, image, publicity or other rights.
- False experience presented as firsthand experience, harassment, threats, discrimination or personal attacks.
- Spam, deceptive promotion, manipulation of Helpful or Thank you, automated abuse or attempts to bypass security controls.
- Dangerous or illegal content, malware, scripts or files disguised as images.
- Accessing another traveler’s account, Draft, private photo, export or administrator function.
Moderation and access
YUI may hide or remove content, invalidate reactions, restrict use, or suspend access when needed to protect travelers, comply with law, investigate abuse, or keep experience data trustworthy. Administrative actions may be recorded in audit history.
Appeals
If an administrator hides or removes a Story, photo or comment you created, you may use Appeal a Moderation Decision on the Contact page to request a manual recheck. An appeal does not automatically restore content or suspend a safety restriction.
YUI intellectual property
YUI, YUI Experience Network, the water-knot identity, site design, software and service materials are owned by or licensed to the YUI operator. These terms do not transfer YUI brand or software rights to you. Your ownership of the Stories and photos you submit remains governed by the section above.
Service changes
The beta may change, pause, lose data, or stop without advance notice. Features and limits may be adjusted as YUI learns from early participants. We will try to communicate important changes clearly.
Travel information and disclaimer
YUI shares personal experience, not guaranteed travel, medical, legal, safety or financial advice. Conditions, prices, rules and availability can change. Verify important details with official sources. To the extent permitted by applicable law, YUI is not responsible for decisions, losses or harm caused by relying only on a Story or by temporary service failure.
Leaving YUI
You can delete individual content or request account deletion in Data & Account Settings. Account deletion immediately hides public content, starts a 30-day recovery period, and then makes the account eligible for permanent deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
Operator and contact
YUI Experience Network is operated by the YUI service owner (the “YUI operator”). Contact methods for privacy, copyright, content safety and moderation appeals are listed on the Contact page. General beta questions may be submitted through the private Beta Feedback route.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without excluding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled by a court with jurisdiction under applicable law.
Severability
If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
